Kyoukai no Kanata [境界の彼方] is a fantasy anime adapted from the light novel by Torii Nagomu [鳥居 なごむ]. It is directed by Ishidate Taichi [石立 太一] and is written by Hanada Jukki [花田 十輝] (Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Robotic;Notes, Steins;Gate), and is being produced by Kyoto Animation [京都アニメーション] (K-ON!, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Lucky Star).
Kyoukai no Kanata will begin airing on Tokyo MX at 2013/10/02 00:30AM JST, TV Aichi at 2013/10/02 02:05AM JST, ABC TV at 2013/10/02 02:43AM JST, BS11 at 2013/10/06 00:00AM JST, and Animax at 2013/10/18 10:00PM JST.
The story follows Kanbara Akihito, a highschool sophomore who is also a member of the literature club and although he looks like an ordinary boy, he is actually half youmu who has the ability to heal his own wounds quickly. He encounters Kuriyama Mirai, a first-year female student who is about to commit suicide by jumping off of the school rooftop - afterwards a series of troublesome events begin to unfold.
