Hanayamata

Hanayamata [ハナヤマタ] is a new anime series adapted from the manga of the same name. I stumbled across the illustrations of the cute girlies by Hamayumiba Sou-sensei and whipped up a copy of the manga.

And here is the style of illustrations you will find inside - really nice!

The anime is directed by Ishizuka Atsuko [いしづかあつこ] (No Game, No Life, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo), and animation production is handled by Madhouse [マッドハウス] (Chihayafuru, No Game, No Life).

Hanayamata will began airing on TV Tokyo July 7th. How many of you have picked up the series?

Average in looks, smarts, creativity, and physical ability, middle schooler Sekiya Naru still fantasizes about fairy tale heroines in contrast to her exceedingly plain life. On a moonlit night, she happens upon a girl clad in Japanese clothing dancing under the moonlight. While she is entranced, the girl invites her to dance yosakoi with her, and so Naru finds herself drawn into the extraordinary world of yosakoi.

Hanayamata's opening theme is Hanaha Odori Reya Iroha ni Ho [花ハ躍レヤいろはにほ] performed by the Hanayamata girls. The ending theme is Hanayuki [花雪] performed by smileY inc. [スマイリー]. Both singles will be released August 27.
